Some Black and White photographs

I'm a sucker for a black and white photograph, so I decided to share a few of my humble black and white attempts with you.

Ohhhhh an my middle of the year resolution... do more black and white photography!

A kind jesture and a warm fuzzy heart

I recently did a photo shoot for two of the ladies working at the lab where I do all my photo & product printing. When I delivered their photos yesterday I got surprised with one HUGE AWESOME gift to say thanks.

Doreen, Michelle it was not necessary, but it is much appreciated.. Like they say in Afrikaans... "Ek kry sommer 'n knop in my keel" (being close to tears). Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!

My mug, well... it might become my dedicated "edit mug" and YES, I made sure that I had a cup of COFFEE in it for my first drink (since that is what this photographer lives on while editing! Especially at night ;-) )

(It will also become my "travel" mug when I meet with new clients at my studio ;-) )

Dearest Doreen

Doreen is one of the stunning ladies that works at the lab where I do all my printing work. Always friendly and always smiling she ensures that you leave with a smile, no matter how bleak the day was before you went into the lab!

Doreen, it was lovely to meet Neo and Isac and I absolutely enjoyed spending the morning with you guys! Wish your mother lived closer so she could have joined in the fun.

Michelle, you have a wonderful family. Thank you so much for sharing them with me for a bit. I hope that you will be able to join us for the next shoot. I think the fun and laughter we shared will then be three times more than what we had already!

Chanika, a dream to work with!!

I had the honor of doing Chanika's photos at her Matrick Farewell function. What a lovely girl to work with! You've got it all girl! The personality, the looks AND being comfy in front of a camera!

The Harris Family

When I got an e-mail from Rudessa a few months ago with regard to a photo shoot I never thought that I'd met my match... but alas, the WHOLE family seems to have a sweet tooth (just like me!) and that was a bonus for taking photographs when the lollipops came out!

Another bonus for me was the fact that Rudessa's grandmother joined in the fun.

Legend has it.... A story line (with a story attached!)

Last week I realized with a start that I don't know when the next photo-club evening was. I didn't even know if we had a set subject (all this happened LATE Tuesday afternoon, 6 August!) I rushed to AFO's website and saw that the next club evening was to held on the 12th of August AND that we have to do a story line! The deadline for submitting the photos being the Friday, the 9th, leaving me with only one available date to complete the photos... Thursday 8 August!

I did not have a story line, I did not have photos. We started brain storming and ended up working around Steri Stumpie's for the idea... However, limited time and NOOOOOOOOOOO available models resulted int the following:

1. My poor mom being bullied into playing model.

2. Me buying Steri Stumpies. 1 x chocolate, 2 x strawberries (one for the photos since it's bright and the other for my husband so that I could have the chocolate one without feeling guilty of having a treat only for myself) and 1 x cream soda flavor... also for NICE bright colors on the photos.

3. My one dog being kidnapped.(Poor Gina!) and set loose in a strange environment... ok not that strange since she was almost immediately looking for my mom's cat and going after his food! (She always goes for the food?!)

4. We did the set-up for the photographs... me chewing gum to place at the bottom of the straw once it's filled up with green milk, my mom and dog taking their places on the steps with poor Gina getting withdrawal symptoms after she smelled the Steri Stumpie.

Well here's the results... One Strawberry (still can't believe she finished it) and on Cream Soda (almost finish) Steri Stumpie later... A COM (top score) at photo club and lots of laughter later I can finally share the photos with you!

.... Luckily for me there was no "puking green" in the car on the way home!
